Editing Challenge Day 1
Learn how to create this fade in text effect (works on any image too)
Welcome to day 1 of the 30 day editor challenge. My aim is to start off easy with these techniques and slowly make them more difficult as we approach day 30!
Below is an example of what we’ll be creating today. Let’s get into it.

Type Your Text
Type each line out as a separate text layer as shown below:

Keyframe The Position
Click the stopwatch icon at the start of your text layer to create a keyframe, then hold shift + right arrow 3x to move 15 frames. Set the next keyframe here by dragging the position highlighted below to the left

Change Keyframe Speed
Click on the 2nd keyframe and drage the blue handle to the left. This speeds up the animation at the start and slows it down at the end.

Keyframe Opacity
Set two keyframes (again, both 15 frames apart) and make the first one 0%, then leave the 2nd at 100%.

Copy the layer you just applied these keyframes to, highlight your other text layers and click “paste attributes“. Make sure “Vector motion“ is checked and click Ok.

Sometimes effects may not transfer properly so make sure to double check that position and opacity keyframes have been pasted to all layers. If they haven’t, copy those keyframes and manually paste them into the keyframe editor yourself.
Nest Nest Nest
If you wish to move your text layers once all effects have been applied, instead of altering the keyframes just nest them individually and position everything where you’d like it.

Final Touch
Stagger each text layer by 2 frames to create a more dynamic effect!

And that’s it!
